From Showroom to Backyard: Your Hot Spring Spa Guide

From Showroom to Backyard Your Hot Spring Spa Guide

You did it. You walked into one of our showrooms in Little Rock or Conway and sat in the seat that made you say “Ahh!” Then, you pulled the trigger. A brand-new Hot Spring® Spa is headed your way.

Welcome to the club. You are going to love this, hot tubber!

But between the excitement of signing the paperwork and the moment your spa is bubbling away in your backyard, there are a few things you want to take care of. Check out our Hot Spring Spa guide for getting your hot tub from the showroom to your backyard.

At Townley, we’ve been helping Central Arkansas families get ready for their new Hot Spring Spas since 1986. Here’s what we tell every new owner.

Step One: Pick the Perfect Spot

This is the fun part, and it deserves some real thought. Where your spa lives in your yard shapes how much you actually use it. And our goal? We want you in that water every single day. Why? Because you will absolutely feel better.

Here are our tips:

Keep it close to your door.

It sounds simple, but proximity matters more than people expect. If soaking means crossing a dark, wet yard in bare feet, it starts to feel like a chore, especially on a chilly Arkansas evening.

The closer your spa is to your back door, the more it becomes part of your daily routine. That’s exactly what Hot Spring Spas are built for.

Think about privacy.

The best soak is one where you’re not waving at the neighbors. Look at your yard from every angle, including from any second-story windows nearby.

If privacy is limited, a pergola, tall planters, or a well-placed row of evergreen shrubs can turn a so-so spot into a genuine backyard retreat.

Know what you’ll be looking at.

Your Hot Spring Spa has specific seat configurations, and some seats are worth saving for the best view. Think about where you want your face pointing when you lean back and let the jets do their thing.

Toward the treeline? Or facing your outdoor kitchen? Toward the fire pit?

Position it intentionally. Don’t forget to think about how it looks from inside your house, too. Hot Spring Spas are genuinely beautiful. You’ll want to see it from your living room.

Step Two: Prepare the Ground

A Hot Spring Spa filled with water is heavy. The surface underneath needs to be solid, level, and ready to handle that load for years to come.

Your main options are a concrete slab, a reinforced deck, or a prefabricated spa pad. Concrete is a popular and reliable choice. If you go that route, plan ahead. Your freshly poured slab needs time to fully cure before delivery day.

One tip our team always shares: size your pad a little bigger than the spa’s footprint. You’ll thank yourself later when you’re stepping in and out without landing in the mud or grass. Give yourself room to walk all the way around for maintenance and for easy entry.

Have questions about what your specific model needs? Give us a call/text or stop by. We’re happy to walk you through it.

Step Three: Line Up Your Electrician

Hot Spring Spas require a dedicated electrical connection, and this is one area where you absolutely want a licensed, professional electrician. It’s not just about making sure the spa works. It’s about safety and meeting local codes.

Your specific model’s power requirements will be outlined in the documentation that comes with your spa. Some smaller Hot Spot® Spas can run on a standard 110V outlet, while larger Highlife® and Limelight® models typically require a 240V dedicated circuit.

When in doubt, have your electrician look at the specs before delivery day so everything is ready to go.

Step Four: Think About Your Backyard as a Whole

Your new Hot Spring Spa isn’t just a hot tub. It’s the anchor of your outdoor living space. This is a great time to think about what you want that space to feel like.

Do you want string lights overhead? An outdoor speaker? A small table nearby for a cold drink or a book? Some simple landscaping around the spa’s cabinet?

Hot Spring Spas come in beautiful cabinet finishes that look great on their own, but a little intentional design around them really elevates the whole experience.

You don’t have to do it all at once. But it’s worth thinking about before delivery day, so you know what you’re working toward.

We’re With You Every Step of the Way

Here’s what makes buying a hot tub from Townley different from buying anywhere else: we’re your neighbors. We have two showrooms right here in Central Arkansas, in Little Rock and Conway. And our team genuinely loves what we do – helping you.

We’re not a pop-up expo that packs up and leaves town. We are here after delivery day, after your first water test, and for many more years.

Hot Spring Spas are the #1 selling hot tub brand in the world, and they’re built to last. We’re proud to bring them to Arkansas families, and we’re proud to be the team that supports you long after the sale.

If you have questions before your delivery or are still in the research phase, stop by, give us a call/text at 501-666-0776, or reach out online. We’ll get you taken care of.

Because pretty soon, you’re going to lean back in that water, feel every jet doing exactly what it’s supposed to do, and think: Ahh, Townley.
