Sanitizers

Killing bacteria and preventing algae is a vital step.

Sanitizers are the key ingredients of proper pool maintenance. Chlorine and bromine keep the water clear, protected from bacteria and help control algae. They are part of the BioGuard® 3-Step Pool Care System.

Shock

Destroying organic contaminants from the environment and bathers is important.

Shocking your pool water is a needed step for proper pool maintenance. Shocks or oxidizers chemically destroy organic contaminants, remove combined chlorine and help restore water clarity. This is the second step of the BioGuard 3-Step Pool Care System.

*such as perspiration, suntan lotions, hair sprays, body oils, urine, pet dander, and cosmetics.

Isn’t shocking just for when your water has a problem?

No! Shocking should be part of your pool maintenance. While it does help with troubleshooting, when part of a routine it removes contaminants that cause cloudy water and helps keep the water crystal clear and sparkling.

Balancers

Balance your water to prevent problems.

Keeping the right balance in your swimming pool water is important. Balancers control scale, prevent metallic stains, adjust pH and total alkalinity and correct mineral imbalances.

How important is pH really?

Having the correct pH in your pool is crucial to your swimmers’ comfort and also protects your pool equipment and surfaces from corrosion, staining and etching. The ideal pH range is 7.4-7.6. If the pH is too high or too low it can cause those pesky red, itchy eyes!

Algae Products

Prevent algae before it becomes an issue.

The addition of algicide is needed for proper pool maintenance. Sanitizers or shock/oxidizers alone may not keep algae at bay and this step is needed to keep your pool completely clear of any growth. This is the third part of the BioGuard 3-Step Pool Care System.

Do all algicides kill algae?

Not all algicides are alike, only algicides that have been approved by the EPA for killing algae actually perform. All BioGuard products have been thoroughly reviewed and proven effective. Various kinds of algae may require different treatments to ensure they are eliminated.

Cleaners

Protect and maintain your pool.

From filter, tile and surface cleaners to pool cover cleaner and preservative – keep your pool environment new and inviting! Having a regular cleaning schedule will help to keep you on track and increase the lifetime of your pool and pool equipment.

Does cleaning my filter really make that much of a difference?

Yes! Having a clean filter makes a significant impact on the quality of your pool’s water. A clean filter allows for proper filtration which is essential to achieving and maintaining safe, crystal clear water.

Water Enhancers

Restore sparkle to your pool water.

Water enhancers not only get rid of cloudy water and make it brilliantly clear but also help your filter work more efficiently.

Why take the additional step of an enhancer?

Your pool is your investment. Having beautiful, sparkling clean water allows you to enjoy spending time in your pool. Enhancers bring out the beauty in your water and keep your filter working at maximum efficiency so you have more time in the pool instead of outside of it.

Off Season

Take care of your pool all year long.

Off season products are designed to care for your pool during the months when your pool is not being used.

Why go through the hassle of closing your pool?

Closing your pool makes maintenance easy during the off months and keeps things under control until you are ready to open it. Closing your pool properly means an easier spring opening that can help save effort, time and money!

Hot Tub Water Care

Hot tub water care is the most important maintenance issue for spa owners.

You’ll find products to help you solve common problems at Townley Pool and Spa.

Don’t forget, you can also bring a water sample to our store, and we’ll test it for you. Then, we’ll print a computerized report to help you get you the right products to properly maintain your water.

Sanitizers

Killing bacteria is key to spa maintenance.

In a spa, you add sanitizers to control the growth of bacteria and algae.

The warm water environment of the spa is conducive to growth, making sanitization essential to having a clean spa for bathers.

Although the chemical reactions that occur to sanitize a spa are the same as in a pool, the reactions in a spa happen at a much faster rate.

Chemicals become more reactive and tend to be used up more quickly than in a pool, requiring frequent chemical additions to maintain proper sanitizer residuals.

Brominating Concentrate

  • One-step, fast-dissolving brominating granules have no chlorine odor
  • Dual-acting as both a sanitizer and oxidizer, eliminates need for two products
  • Easy to use, no pre-dissolving needed
  • Apply directly to water while the pump is running
  • For those more comfortable with granular chlorine

Chlorinating Concentrate

  • Fast-acting, quick-dissolving
  • Easy to use, no pre-dissolving needed
  • Acts as a sanitizer and an oxidizer; no need for two products
  • Apply directly to water while the pump is running
  • A bromine option for continuous protection

Brominating Tablets

  • Organic brominating compound (BCDMH) in compressed 1-inch tablets
  • Dissolve slowly and protect continuously
  • Ideal for heavy bather loads and commercial spas
  • Apply in a brominator or in a SpaGuard floating dispenser
oxidizers

Oxidizers

Destroying organic contaminants from the environment and bathers is important.

When people use spas, they leave undesirable compounds like body oils, perspiration and cosmetics that can irritate skin, burn eyes and create odors. Oxidizing, also known as shocking the water, removes these compounds and restores water clarity and comfort.

Isn’t shocking just for when your water has a problem?

No, shocking should be part of your regular spa maintenance. While it does help with troubleshooting, routine treatment helps provide the correct chemical balance your spa water needs to keep the water clear, odor-free and comfortable. Shocking should be done weekly in most spas and more frequently for heavily used or commercial spas.

Enhanced Shock

  • Multi-purpose shock with four benefits in one: shock, clarifier, flocculent and pH buffer
  • Restores water sparkle and removes unpleasant odors
  • Treat and soak in as soon as 15 minutes*
  • Compatible with chlorinated or brominated spas and those using ozone or ionization systems

*15 minutes is only recommended as long as the free chlorine or bromine does not exceed label recommendation.

Spa Shock

  • Non-chlorine oxidizer that does not raise chlorine residual
  • Easy-to-use, quick-dissolving shock treatment
  • Treat and soak in as soon as 15 minutes*
  • Can be used with chlorinated or brominated spas

*15 minutes is only recommended as long as the free chlorine or bromine does not exceed label recommendation.

balancers

Balancers

Balance your water to prevent problems.

Balancing your spa water is necessary as balancers control scale, adjust pH and total alkalinity and correct mineral imbalances.

How important is pH really?

Having the correct pH level in your spa is crucial to your soakers’ comfort and also protects your equipment from corrosion and scale. The ideal pH is 7.2-7.6. If the pH is too high or too low it can cause those pesky red, itchy eyes!

Enhanced ShockSpa Sentry®*
