Mother's Day Grilled Blood Orange Mimosa

Celebrate mom with an out-of-this-world Grilled Blood Orange Mimosa!

Ingredients

4 halved blood oranges (you can substitute Cara Cara oranges if you can’t find blood oranges)

2 tablespoons sugar

1 bottle of champagne or sparkling wine

Oranges, strawberries, or raspberries as garnish

Instructions

Set Big Green Egg at 375 degrees. Dip the cut side of your oranges in the sugar. Then, place the cut side of your oranges down on a hot grill. Grill the orange halves until you see grill marks. This is usually about 10-15 minutes at 375 degrees.

Let the oranges cool. Then using a juicer, juice the oranges so you just have juice and no pulp. You can also do this with your hands, but make sure you strain it through a fine strainer to remove the pulp.

Pour four-five ounces (to your taste) of champagne or sparkling wine into a glass. Then add one to one and half ounces (to your taste) of the blood orange juice.

Add some orange peels, strawberries, or raspberries as garnish and enjoy!

Serves four.
